As far as eyes can see! Located in the heart of Botswana, the Central Kalahari Game Reserve is the largest and most remote game reserve in the whole of Southern Africa. The sheer size of its wide open space lend a great sense of freedom. Animals thrive in this remote wilderness, and especially after the summer rains, the reserve's northern grasslands attract large herds of springbok, gemsbok, wildebeest, hartebeest, eland and giraffes. Of course their predators are not far away.

This national park contains a lot of other wildlife such as: elephant, white rhinoceros, Cape buffalo, spotted hyena, brown hyena, honey badger, meerkat, yellow mongoose, warthog, cheetah, caracal, Cape wild dog, black-backed jackal, bat-eared fox, cape fox, leopard, lion, zebra,  sable antelope, steenbok, impala, greater kudu, aardvark, cape ground squirrel, cape hare, cape porcupine, chacma baboon and ostrich. 

The whole area is predominantly flat, or slightly undulating, with sand dunes and some bush and grasses growing on it. You can find there also larger trees in some areas. The fossilized rivers in the reserve created typical valleys, such as the Deception Valley, which is about 16,000 years old. The original inhabitants of the Central Kalahari are are the Bushmen, or San, who have lived in the reservation area for thousands of years.
