Nxai Pan Day Trip (full day)

Nxai Pan National Park lies on one of the Makgadikgadi Pan salt flats. Smaller pans fill up with water during the rain season, providing rich resources for wildlife. Common animals to be seen are zebras, lions, elephant, hyena, leopard, ostrich, wildebeest, spring book, impala, onyx, giraffe, cheetah, wild dog, bat, eared fox etc., with lots of birds.
Nxai Pan is particularly known for Baines’ Baobabs. This bunch of extremely old baobab trees is a highlight for any visitor traveling to this place of Botswana. Seven huge baobab trees, named after the 19th century explorer Thomas Baines, are situated on an island overlooking and surrounded by the white, crusty Kudiakam pan. Thomas Baines stood here in 1863 and created the paintings on these trees.

Moremi Game Reserve is a small part of Botswana in the north, being a protected territory. Its area is approximately 5000 square kilometers. The name refers to Chief Moremi of the BaTawan tribe. Moremi is the only protected area of the Okavango Delta. It holds tremendous scientific, environmental and conservation importance. It ranks as one of the most beautiful reserves in Africa, possibly in the world.
Situated in the central and eastern areas of the Okavango Delta, the reserve includes the Moremi Tongue and Chiefs Island, boasting one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems on the continent. Spectacular game viewing and birds watching, include all major naturally occurring herbivores and carnivore species on the region.

Mokoro Overnight Trip
Four persons minimum. Smaller group has to book trip for 4 persons.

A maze of channels and lagoons sustain a profusion of wildlife of this area. You are going to explore the constantly shifting marsh by mokoro, a traditional dugout canoe, to observe wildlife at eye level. You will look out for rare birds, like the endangerd Pel’s fishing owl, as well sa water adapted antelopes like sitatunga, which is endemic to the Okavango delta, and the red lecwe, browsing in the grades.
